Handling of Test Items and Data Integrity

ISO 17025 outlines specific procedures for the transport, receipt, handling, protection, storage, and disposal of test items. In peptide research, where molecules may be sensitive to temperature or light, these procedures are vital to prevent degradation and cross-contamination. Strict identification systems ensure that research samples are tracked throughout the entire analytical process.

Data integrity and control of records are also prioritized. The standard requires that all technical records, including original observations and derived data, be retained for a set period. This ensures that any result can be reviewed or replicated, providing a foundation for transparency in scientific research.
